choosing and justifying, not recalling the three routes.
State for each activity which part of the objective it
serves. Flag anything a less experienced trainer might
deliver as a lecture by mistake.

The design came back as three rounds of scenario sorting with justification required out loud, and the alignment notes said which part each round served. The final instruction produced the most useful line in the document: a warning that the opening explanation of the three routes could easily expand into the whole session, which is exactly what an inexperienced trainer does when the room is quiet.

Pro tip Give it the assessment before the content. Designing towards a known test is the single most reliable way to get alignment, and designing the content first and the test afterwards is how misalignment gets built in.
