How many Mondays have you opened your scheduler with an empty week staring back at you? You cannot decide what Tuesday should say, or Thursday, or Saturday. So you post nothing, then post three things in a rush on Friday, and the feed looks as scattered as the planning behind it. A plan fixes that, but writing one by hand takes an evening you do not have.
Short answer: AI Social Content Planner is a free AIToolsay tool. It turns your niche, goals and topics into a dated social media content plan. Pick the plan length, the mix of post types and how often you post. The plan comes back as slots with themes, caption drafts, hashtags and posting times.
What is AI Social Content Planner?
It is a planning workspace, not a chat box with a new label. You type what your account is about, choose a few settings, and get back a schedule you can work from. Each slot carries a date, a post type, a topic and, if you want, a caption and hashtags.
The important word is plan. AI Social Content Planner is not there to write one brilliant post. It answers the harder question: what the next four weeks should look like so your feed has a shape. Open the AI Social Content Planner and you have a first draft of that shape in about a minute.
It works for any platform. Name yours in the prompt box or in Custom Instructions and the plan is written for it.
Why Use AI Social Content Planner?
Most people do not stop posting because they run out of ideas. They stop because deciding what to post every day is tiring. Worse, the deciding lands at the worst possible moment, right before the post is due.
A dated schedule, not a list of ideas
Every slot lands on a day. You open the plan and post what the row says.
A mix you control
Set the balance between teaching, selling, entertaining and showing your process.
Caption drafts included
Each slot arrives with copy you can edit. Fixing a rough draft beats an empty caption field.
Hashtags and posting times
Two toggles attach a tag set and a suggested time, so the plan moves into your scheduler.
Your choice of AI model
Run the same brief through a different engine when a plan feels flat. Earlier runs stay in your history.
Tip Write the plan before you write any posts. Once you see the whole month, you notice the gaps, the repetition and the week where you promised three launches at once.
How Does AI Social Content Planner Work?
The tool sits on the same working surface as every other AI tool here. The steps below run in the order you meet them on screen.
- Prompt input area. The large box at the top reads Enter your niche, goals, or topics…. Give it your niche, the platform, who you are talking to and what you want from the next few weeks.
- AI model selector. Pick the engine before you generate. The list covers MSB AI, OpenAI ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude AI, xAI Grok AI, DeepSeek, Qwen, Meta AI, NVIDIA AI, OpenRouter AI and MiniMax. Each one writes with a different personality.
- Advanced options accordion. Open the panel and set the controls that belong to this tool. They separate a generic plan from one that matches how you actually post.
- Generate button. One click sends your brief, your model and your settings to the tool. Behind it sits an instruction layer that tells the model how a content plan is built.
- Output card. The plan appears below the button, and the footer carries a live word count. Use it to check whether you asked for a skimmable outline or a heavy document.
- Export row. The toolbar above the plan holds copy, listen, edit and share. Under the card, three buttons save your plan as DOC, TXT or HTML.
- Activity history panel. Your recent generations from this session sit below the result. Each row carries copy, listen, reuse, download, and an Open result button that puts that plan back in the full view above. Reuse loads the plan into the editor so you can change it in place.
Pro tip Generate a rough plan with Detail Level low, read it, then paste the parts you liked into Custom Instructions and generate again. The second pass is usually the keeper.
Best Use Cases
Anyone filling a feed on a schedule gets something out of this.
| Who you are | What you plan | Settings that suit you |
|---|---|---|
| Small business owner | A steady month of posts around your products and local audience | 1 Month, Mixed, 3x per Week, Calendar |
| Solo creator | A weekly rhythm you can keep without burning out | 1 Week, Educational, Weekly, Checklist |
| Social media manager | A client plan to get approved before anything is written | 3 Months, Mixed, Daily, Table |
| Course or coaching seller | A launch run up where teaching builds toward an offer | 2 Weeks, Promotional, Daily, Detailed Plan |
The plan works as a briefing document too. Hand the exported file to a designer and they know what each date needs. Some weeks are really a single push with their own goal. Build that week in the AI Social Media Campaign Generator, then drop it back into the calendar.
Advanced Options Guide
Ten controls sit inside the accordion. Every one changes the plan you get back. Spend a minute here, or you will generate on defaults and wonder why the result feels flat.
| Option | What it controls | When to change it | Suggested starting point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plan Duration | Time covered: 1 Week, 2 Weeks, 1 Month or 3 Months | Shorten for a launch window, lengthen to map a quarter | 1 Month, long enough to show a rhythm, short enough to edit by hand |
| Content Mix | Balance of post types: Educational, Promotional, Entertaining, Inspirational, Behind-the-Scenes, User-Generated or Mixed | Pick one type when a single job matters more than balance | Mixed, so posts spread across teaching, selling and showing |
| Posting Frequency | Slots per week: Daily, 3x per Week, Weekly, Bi-Weekly or Custom | Drop it when the plan wants more posts than you can make | 3x per Week, a pace most solo accounts can hold for a month |
| Output Format | Shape of the finished plan: Calendar, Table, Checklist, Bullet List or Detailed Plan | Match it to where the plan goes next, a sheet or a scheduler | Calendar, because dated rows copy straight into a scheduling app |
| Include Captions | Whether each slot arrives with a caption draft | Off when you only want topics and will write the copy | On, editing a rough caption beats filling an empty one |
| Include Hashtags | Whether a tag set is attached to each post | Off on platforms where you never use tags | On, deleting tags takes seconds, researching them does not |
| Include Best Posting Times | Whether each slot carries a suggested day and time | Off once your analytics tell you when your audience is awake | On for a first plan, so you have a timetable to test |
| Include Content Themes | Whether posts are grouped under named weekly themes | This one starts off, so switch it on when you want each week to have a spine | On, because themes stop a month turning into a pile of unrelated posts |
| Detail Level | A slider from 1 to 100, shown as a percentage, for how much writing sits behind each slot | Down for a quick skim, up for copy that is close to ready | Leave it at 60, which gives a hook, a caption and a note without an essay |
| Custom Instructions | Free text, up to 1000 characters, for what the dropdowns cannot hold | Any time you have product names, offers, a voice or topics to avoid | Home bakery in Bristol. Sourdough and celebration cakes. Warm voice. Mention the Saturday stall. |
The two options people get wrong
Posting Frequency quietly wrecks plans. Daily looks ambitious in the accordion and impossible by day nine. Choose the pace you kept last month, not the one you wish you kept.
Detail Level is the other. Push it near the top with a 3 Months duration and you get a document that is harder to scan than the calendar you wanted. High detail suits a short duration.
Important Suggested posting times are general guidance, not a reading of your own account data. Treat the first plan as a timetable to test, then correct the times on the next run.
Example Inputs
Here is one scenario carried all the way through. Priya runs a home bakery in Bristol. She sells sourdough and celebration cakes, has a Saturday market stall, and posts on Instagram.
This is what she typed into the prompt box:
Home bakery in Bristol selling sourdough and celebration cakes.
Instagram. I want a month of posts that bring people to my Saturday
market stall and get more cake enquiries. Audience is local families
and food accounts in the city.
Then she opened the accordion:
| Setting | What Priya chose |
|---|---|
| AI model | Anthropic Claude AI |
| Plan Duration | 1 Month |
| Content Mix | Mixed |
| Posting Frequency | 3x per Week |
| Output Format | Calendar |
| Detail Level | 60, the setting it arrives on |
| Custom Instructions | Warm, chatty voice. Always mention the Saturday stall. No baking myths or fake scarcity. |
Captions, hashtags and posting times are on when the page loads, so Priya left them alone. She switched Include Content Themes on, because that one starts off. Before you press generate, run down this list:
- ✅ Your platform is named in the brief, not assumed
- ✅ Your goal is a real outcome, such as stall visits or enquiries
- ✅ Posting Frequency matches a pace you have actually kept
- ✅ Custom Instructions carries your voice and anything you never want mentioned
- ✅ Detail Level is set for the length of plan you asked for
Example Outputs
The plan came back as a dated calendar. This is the start of week one, shortened so you see the shape.
WEEK 1 THEME: Why sourdough takes three days
Mon 6:30 pm | Educational
Hook: The bit of sourdough nobody photographs.
Caption: Day one is flour and water and patience...
Tags: #bristolbakery #sourdough #realbread
Wed 12:15 pm | Behind-the-Scenes
Hook: 5am, market prep, one very cold kitchen.
Caption: Saturday starts on Wednesday round here...
Tags: #marketstall #bristolfood #smallbusiness
Sat 9:00 am | Promotional
Hook: Stall is up. Come find the cinnamon buns.
Caption: Corn Street until 2pm, cakes to order...
WEEK 2 THEME: Cakes for real occasions ...
The themes give each week a spine, so its posts support one idea instead of drifting. The captions are drafts. Priya edits every one, because the tool does not know her cinnamon buns sell out by eleven.
Avoid Posting a generated caption without reading it. The plan writes plausible copy, not verified copy. Any price, opening time or offer in a draft is a placeholder until you check it.
Comparison Table
Planning by hand is not wrong. It is slow, and the slow part is the blank page rather than the thinking.
| Job | Planning by hand | With AI Social Content Planner |
|---|---|---|
| A first draft of the month | An evening of staring, listing and reordering | One generation, then edits |
| Keeping the mix balanced | Easy to drift into all selling or all tips | The mix setting holds the balance |
| Caption starters | Written one at a time, usually late | Drafted with the plan, ready to edit |
| Local detail and real offers | You already know it | You supply it in Custom Instructions |
What works well
- Turns a vague niche into dated slots you can act on today
- Every option really changes the output, none of them is decoration
- Captions, tags, times and themes arrive in one pass
- Free, no account needed, and it runs on your pick of AI model
- Export to DOC, TXT or HTML for sharing with a team
What to watch for
- Suggested posting times are general, not from your analytics
- Over a 3 Months plan, caption phrasing repeats and needs pruning
- It knows nothing about your prices or dates unless you say so
- Daily makes more posts than most solo accounts can produce

Frequently Asked Questions
Is AI Social Content Planner free to use?
Yes. The tool is free and no account is needed. Open the page, type your brief, choose your settings and generate.
Which platforms does the plan work for?
Any of them. Name your platform in the prompt box or in Custom Instructions. The plan is then written for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest or wherever you post.
How long a plan can I generate at once?
Plan Duration offers 1 Week, 2 Weeks, 1 Month and 3 Months. For a first run, 1 Month is the sweet spot. It shows a full rhythm and is still short enough to edit line by line.
Do the captions need editing before I post them?
Yes, always read them first. They are solid starting drafts, but the tool cannot know your prices, your stock or this week's opening hours. Add the real detail yourself.
Which AI model should I pick for a content plan?
Start with the default. If the plan feels flat, generate the same brief on a different engine. Some models write tighter calendars, others write warmer captions.
What if my posting pattern is not one of the choices?
Choose Custom under Posting Frequency, then describe the real pattern in Custom Instructions. For example: two feed posts on weekdays plus one longer piece on Sunday. The plan follows what you describe.
A feed that looks planned is rarely the work of someone with more ideas than you. It is the work of someone who decided everything in advance, on one quiet afternoon, then followed the list. That is the job AI Social Content Planner does. Give it your niche and your settings, and let it hand you the month.
